OMG I wouldn't be able to handwrite first, after having read each paragraph, I change and change and change many times untill it seems satisfying. it would become unreadable, crossed out....legend says that jack kerouac wrote "on the road" right first time, he must have been blessed by the god! I couldn't have been a XIX th century writer 🥴
I’ve always found handwriting helps me think expansively. And yet, more and more my first, unthinking, instinct is to fire up the computer and type. Why? Is it because so much of the ideas about productivity come to me from the world of tech? Perhaps.
Thanks for this reminder, and gentle nudge. I’ve just spent 30 minutes with a notebook writing and thinking. The ideas look good to me. Importantly, they went somewhere I doubt they would have when forming on a screen. Cheers!
